Methodology

How we measure.

Emissions data is collected by an independent consultancy and normalized against the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. Every operating portfolio company reports scope 1 and scope 2 within 180 days of fiscal year-end.

We report scope 3 for 11 of 26 portfolio companies, only where the upstream and downstream activity data is reliable enough to defend in an audit. For the remaining 15 companies, we publish the categories of scope 3 we are working toward and the year we expect to report them.

Board composition is reported as of the fiscal year-end and signed off by the chief executive of each portfolio company before publication.
